Heinz Weight Watchers Chicken Soup
Description: Manufacturer: Heinz / Type: Soup
As with all products in the Heinz Weight Watchers range, this soup comes in a purple can with the logo on the front and a picture of the soup too.
The 295g tin cost me £0.67 from a local supermarket though I have seen them on offer in Poundland so it is worth keeping an eye out for them. You can buy them in most supermarkets and there is a variety of flavours in the range.
The tin comes with a handy pull off lid so that you don't need a tin opener. You can either heat gently in a saucepan or put the soup in the microwave for around 2 and a half minutes (stir and check half way through cooking).
The soup has a slightly yellow colour, and while it is thinner than Heinz's normal chicken soup, is thicker than some other Weight Watcher's brands. It is quite smooth looking with some small (very small!) pieces of chicken floating through it.
The soup has quite a pleasant taste but isn't as creamy as the normal Heinz one, and is quite salty - I have read another review that mentions the salty taste so this is perhaps something that Heinz could look to improve.
The consistency is quite nice, not too thin and very smooth.
Nutritional value per 29g tin as follows;
89 calories
3g fat
1g salt
In summary, this was an okay soup but could do with having less salt added to it. It wasn't as nice as the Heinz original chicken soup though and I would probably buy that one in future. Having said that, it was very healthy, but I did find that it wasn't as filling as some brands.
Served with a chuck of decent bread, this soup was an okay lunch, if not an extremely tasty one, so a decent enough options for those who are trying to reduce their calorie intake.
Summary: Okay if you are watching your weight
