On a Saturday we have a ritual. It's always the same, my Step-Father cooks a steak meal us all of an evening. I have to say though that although it's predictable it is lovely!
Now I'm a saucy bird and I love loads of different sauces on my meals otherwise they bored the hell out of me and my Mother purchased this one for us to try a couple of weeks back!
Oblong glass see-through bottle with a white twist on/off cap/lid to the top of it. Around the frontand the sides of the bottle there is an off white coloured label and on the front of that I'm told it is HP Steak Sauce 'A delicious pepper sauce' and there is a picture of a steak and trimmings on there. Other information (on the sides of the bottle) includes being told a bit about the sauce, ingredients being listed, nutritional information being given and being told it is free from artificial colours, preservatives and is low in fat and suitable for Vegetarians, the size is stated which is 255g and contact details for Heinz are given. Nice enough bottle and its informative enough.
A Bit About The Product According To The Bottle:
Hp expertly blend tasty, high quality sauces from the very finest ingredients.
Now we've made HP Steak Sauce, a mouth-watering blend of black pepper and spices to perfectly complement your home cooked steak.
Why not try it with home made burgers or premium sausages for a real tasty meal?
It's a dark brown sauce that is of good consistency. It is runny enough but is a thickish sauce. Taste wise..... well I love it. It's a cross in taste between a BBQ sauce and brown sauce with a big dash of pepper in there to give a subtle but noticeable hotness and there is an undertone of garlic in there too. It has a slight burnt caramel smell to it and does contain the stuff giving a rich glossy look and a natural sweet taste to the sauce. It leaves no horrible after-taste and compliments my steak meal perfectly! I love it on anything though and of course it's a table sauce meaning it's served cold.
A great size to store and of of course when your running out it's best to store it upside down (you need to wedge it to that lol).
A hottish, slightly smoked sauce which is delicious in my opinion on anything you want it on!
