Morrisons Value Curry Sauce
Advantages: tastes nice, cheap to buy, long shelf life, not too spicy
Disadvantages: Calories are high
I am hoping that most people will agree with me when I say that Chips and Curry Sauce is an awesome meal, and one that almost can not be beaten. I usually get my chips and curry sauce from the local chip shop, but this can get a bit expensive and I thought I would try just making it at home instead, which also helps to control the calories!!
I usually shop in Morrisons, so when I went there to do my shopping, I made a note to look out for a jar of curry sauce, and I found the Morrisons Value Curry Sauce at just 9p a jar!!! I was a little shocked to see it was so cheap, and I did wonder if it just tasted awful or had something wrong with it due to the price, but I thought for the fact it was only 9p for a jar, it was worth a try.
Next time I made some chips, I took this jar out of the cupboard, and put some of the sauce into a bowl, popped it into the microwave and prepared to eat my chips and curry sauce. From the first bite I was amazed that this sauce could cost only 9p as it tasted really good, and was almost the same taste as you would get from a fish and chip shop!
The sauce itself is a golden brown colour and is quite thick in consistency. It has a wonderful aroma to it, and it filled my kitchen with a nice warm scent, which lingered for about half an hour. There is not much spice to this sauce, so it is most likely suitable for most people. I have even since tried this with chicken to make an actual curry, and it worked wonderfully!
The only downside to this curry sauce is the fact that it is quite high in calories, like most curry sauces. I enjoy this as an occasional treat now, but I still love the taste of it, and I always have a jar of this in my kitchen cupboard, as it is something I do not like to be without.
You can only buy this sauce in Morrisons supermarkets, and for the whole 9p you pay for it, it truly is worth the money!! It has a long shelf life, can be stored in the fridge after opening and it tastes wonderful. This really is a good sauce, and if you like a nice mild curry sauce, this one is the way to go.
I give this curry sauce a 5 out of 5 stars and I totally recommend it, just remember to watch the amount of calories.
