      don't do it

It was time for lunch and as neither my husband or myself wanted a heavy lunch we opted for soup. Being a bit lazy decided on a tin of Morrison's own brand of winter chicken, vegetable barley soup.

I opened the tin and it smelt a little like the chicken and veg soup I expected but was not totally doing the business on my taste buds. I heated it through as directed on the tin and this made the smell heighten a little, still not convinced I served it with some bread and butter.

Taking a mouthful I was instantly hit with the off putting hardness of the peas and beans in the soup quite uncooked in my view and thought that would teach me to cheat and go buying a tin of the stuff. Then I was hit by the strange textures of the rest of the soup, not the best experience but I persevered with the rest of my bowl. Leaving me with an overal feeling of mild chicken flavour with lots of bits of hard vegetables, not the most pleasant tasting soup I had ever eaten.
To be honest I don't think I would buy this particular brand again or this variety as it really put me off tinned soup and as I was not a great fan in the first place it is a great pity.
I also found this soup to be very salty possibly to counteract the bland flavour encountered by the chicken or lack of it.

Sorry just not for me Morrison's even at 59p per tin you could do much better.
