Advantages: A rich tomatoey sauce

Disadvantages: None really

I consider pasta to be one of the staple evening meals in my house. I bought this sauce as a cheaper alternative to Homepride and Dolmio. I have used the sauce for many purposes, such as a sauce for plain pasta and also as the sauce to make spaghetti bolognese in a slow cooker.

I am an advocate of the basics products, I believe the sauce is the same as Dolmio but just in disguise. The taste of the sauce is delicious, it has a rich tomatoey taste and the herbs add another dimension to the sauce, a luxurious taste. The texture of the sauce is thick and silky, you only need a little to make it go along way. Just from my portion sizes I would say the sauce would serve four people at least. Depending on how much sauce you like.

Overall, if you were serving the sauce to someone who had never the basics sauce before they would think it is a prenium brand. If you are looking for convenience and to save pennies but not lose out on the taste then try this pasta sauce.

Summary: A lovely pasta sauce for pennies
