      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Simply gorgeous!

As a fan of soup I thought I should give this a go as I adore Asparagus. I usually eat Heinz and the likes and very rarely purchase shop own brands but this was the only Asparagus soup that was available in Sainsbury's and I so fancied it!

      Packaging...

Asparagus Soup, Simmer and Serve Soup Mix Packet (53g) is the same packaging as the photo at the top of this review. Green packet with a pan of asparagus soup on the front and it clearly states that it is indeed a Sainsbury's own product, that its ready for serving in 5 minutes, and serves 3. On the back gives me the Nutritional information, and the ingredients. Tells me how to cook it and gives me information on how to contact Sainsbury's for queries.

      How To Cook....

Empty the contents of the sachet into a saucepan and stir in 1 pint of cold water.
Bring to the boil, stirring frequently.
Allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Stirring occasionally.

Cooking this was so simple, even I could do it! It blended well and cooked in the 5 minutes dead on. It was thick and white in colour. lots of small green pieces of aspargus through out the soup and I thought they would be dry as this is a powdered mix and they really wernt. The whole thing wasn't powdery and the aspargus was plump and falvoursome. The whole thing wasnt full of salt or too sugary.

I have found with a lot of powdered soups in the past that they can be incredibly overloaded in taste with sweetners and leave a rather nasty after taste and this really didnt. It says it makes 3 portions but I found as made up with the instructions it made one large bowl which I had for my lunch. It is incredibly filling though!

If you want a thicker soup add less water and I personally like it thick so I had the correct amount of water in it. If you like a thinner soup add more water as you go along.

I really enjoyed this soup. It looked nice, tasted nice and is simple fo a quick bite to eat and I would buy it again and again!
