Difficult dishes cooked in no time.

I love to cook most of my meals from scratch and I cook a variety of dishes .

My love for culinary experimenting and exploring has lead to an accumulation of a whole range of world spices in an assortment of three cupboards in my kitchen . Out of these one big one has 2-4 rows of packets of spices most of which are from the shan range.

I have bought and tried a huge range of these from asian grocers and my local tesco even stores them.

They are generally price at 55p in tesco and I get them for 2 for £1 at most asian grocers and have a two years best before date as well.

Though I consider myself a good cook of Indian dishes sometimes when I want to cook something new or I don't know how to go about it these packet spices come quite handy as they have a well written recipe for the named dish on them and if you follow the instructions to the point you will most certainly have a most authentic version for the dish.

A word of caution however would be if you cannot eat hot food you'd better stick to a spoon-ful of the spice mix as they can be very hot.. also i do not use more than two spoon fulls when cooking for my toddler, who can manage a bit more heat in food than an average adult .

This particular brand of spices has mixes for:
      (chicken and meat are)

      Chicken jalfrezi
      chicken/lamb chapli kabab
      chat masala
      chicken yakhni pulao
      chicken bombay biryani
      chicken malay biryani
      sindhi biryani
      hyderabadi biryani
      chicken korma
      ginger chicken
      chicken bbqtandoorimasala
      chicken rezala
      boti kabab

      cholay murgh
      lahori charga
      tikka shekh
      behari kebab
      keema curry
      sheekh kabab
      chicken handi
      chicken kadhai
      tikkiya kabab
      mutton roast
      liver curry
      chicken broast
      achar gosht
      pasanda mix
      fried chops
      kofta curry
      white chicken korma
      pani puri masala

      and some others are

      lahori fish
      paya masala(trotters)
      nihari masala
      haleem mix
      aloo bhaji(potato)
      pakora and bhaji mix
      khichra mix(rice-lentil-meat dish)
      garam masala
      meat tenderiser(for those tough meat)
      vegetable curry mix
      kat a kat mix
      dal curry
      chana masala

I have seen them in the houses of my other Indian, pakistani and bangladeshi friends too and have never heard anything bad about them so far.

So if you are adventurous enough , put your chef's cap on and start cooking an authentic Indian dish for someone special or just yourself believe me you won't be disappointed.
