 ... keeps well in the fridge once opened and stores well for around a month. It is made in a factory where there are nuts so is not suitable for those with allergies. It is vegetarian and despite its very vivid colour it is free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. For me this is the best version I can get hold of for my thai and oriental cooking, Sharwoods proving once again that they are consistent makers of quality cooking sauces and ingredients....more

This sauce from the Sharwoods range is one which I have begun using quite regularly since starting to cook a lot of Thai food at home. This is not a cook in sauce as such and would be too rich to use as one, more so it is a condiment you will use when cooking, to give added depth to a dish or a sauce. I buy this from Asda for around £1 a jar. It is a thick sweet chilli sauce which looks rather like a ketchup - very different from the sweet chilli 'dipping' sauces which are more opaque and intended for dipping spring rolls and the like into or glazing with.
