      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Not bad!

I love a chicken roast dinner and of course that isn't complete with cranberry sauce....well it isn't in my humble opinion anyway!

I'm trying to save some pennies on food shopping of late (as I spend a fortune as I love food!) and am trying to buy cheaper alternatives on the run up to Christmas and me trying to buy an awful lot of gifts for myself and for others lol.

I don't normally shop in Tesco and am an Asda fan as a rule but I spotted this in my corner shop style Tesco (Express to most people lol) and at 66p a jar thought I had a bit of a bargain!

      The Packaging:

What you get is a see-through glass jar with a black twist on/off lid to the top of it and it holds 200g of the cranberry sauce within it. There is a burgundy label that goes around it and on the front of that a creamy coloured section of colour and on that there is a picture of cranberries and we are told that it is Tesco Cranberry Sauce 'Delicious With Turkey' and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. Other information on the jar includes ingredients and allergy advice being given, as well as a nutritional chart being shown and the weight being stated and contact details for Tesco are clearly stated. Nice enough jar this is.

      The Cranberry Sauce:

When you first open the jar you are greeted with a set like jam, dark purply red coloured cranberry sauce, that really does appear like jam in its appearance. Course when you get into using it it does go a bit blobby and I do say this needs to be stored in the fridge or it melts really badly and you end up with tons of sauce and all the fruit settling at the bottom of the jar and its a very sticky sauce this one.

This isn't a bad sauce offering. You get plenty of the jelly like part with is naturally sweet, fruity berry tasting with a slight sharpness to it and a decent helping of the cranberries. Sadly the cranberrys are rather mushed up, small and it does have a lot of hard seeds and skins within it but it doesn't taste awful just not the best quality and I would prefer the cranberries to be a bit more whole and sharp really.

I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this again but like I have previously mentioned it isn't awful but it doesn't hold its own on warm/hot foods at all and tends to melt quite badly so probably better with a meat salad or on a sandwich or something like that!
