Tesco Value Tomato Soup
I have recently tried the Tesco Value tin of tomato soup and this is my review.
I have been buying some items from the Tesco Value range recently to see if they are any good and I think some of them are good but some are rubbish and I would not buy them again.
The Tesco value tomato soup is a product I had not wanted to try cos I love Heinz tomato soup so much but I thought I would try it once to see if it was good because it was so cheap I was pleased at the low price. The tin only cost about 20 pence but when I usually buy the Heinz tin of tomato soup this costs around 70 pence so as you can see I made a good saving.
The Heinz tomato soup has a ring pull on the can which is easier for me to open because I do not have a lot of strength in my hands because of arthritis so the Tesco value tin of tomato soup was a bit harder for me to open as I had to use my tin opener and this is not easy for me.
I poured the soup into a pan and went to heat it and I did not like how it looked to thin. The colour was ok but it looked more orange than Heinz tomato soup.
It did not take long to heat up the soup and it looked ok once it was heated but just ok. I did not like the colour of the soup to much and there was not much smell.
When I tasted the soup I had some bread with it and I think it made an ok meal. I would not rush to get it again but for the cheap price I am not to bothered that it was not the best soup I have tried. If money was tight then this would do but it would not be my first choice.
The taste of the value tomato soup was a bit acidy for me and it has a bit of an after taste that I am not used to when eating tomato soup. The taste got a bit much and I could not finish the bowl but it was a large sized bowl so this was not to bad.
I think it is very good value because the tin is a good size and is 400g and this would feed two people for lunch or one person for a larger meal.
I would suggest giving it a try because some people might like the taste of it and for less than twenty pence it is not the end of the world if it does not suit you and you have not lost much by trying it.
I would buy it again if I had to watch my budget but I still prefer the Heinz soup to this Tesco value tomato soup.
