Advantages: Nothing.
Disadvantages: Disgusting. Low quality. Greasy chicken water. Hardly any chicken or noodles.
I am partial to chicken noodle soup and it's a dish I will sometimes have at lunchtime. I have tried a number of the dishes available from the Weight Watchers brand, and I've found the quality of them a little hit and miss. The Weight Watchers Clear Chicken Noodle Soup is, unfortunately, one of their products that I just feel totally misses the mark. A 295g can of the Weight Watchers Clear Chicken Noodle Soup costs 75p from Tesco - which is not a particularly good price as most other brands available are considerably cheaper than this. Having said that, I know that I am usually willing to pay a little more for a tasty low-fat and low-calorie dish - but this just isn't it.
The soup comes in a can with a ring pull and therefore it has a really long shelf life of a few years. Full directions, ingredients and nutritional information are given on the can. In order to prepare it for consumption it is just a matter of heating it up in a saucepan or in the microwave - and both methods take about 3 minutes and the quality is the same with either method. There is enough soup in each can for one person, but there certainly isn't enough to share with anyone else!
The soup doesn't really look particularly attractive. It looks a little bit like dishwater with a few lumps of something in it. I could only see a few really small pieces of chicken and some unappetising slithers of vegetables and a tiny amount of noodles. There is just no substance to this soup - and it's just very low quality. There is no particular aroma to the soup and so it doesn't get any taste buds going, and then couple this with the appearance, I have to say that I really didn't even want to try it.......but I forced myself.
The taste.....what can I say? The taste is meh, ewwww, ugh - and any other sound ilke that you can make. It's not completely unedible and I'm sure if I was starving in the middle of the Sahara or something then I would eat it, but this certainly isn't something that I'd ever want to eat again. It has very little flavour, and what flavour it did have was just very unpleasant because it tasted so synthetic and just like greasy chicken water. I only ate about half the bowl because that's all I could force down and I can assure you that it did nothing to fill me up or make me feel satiated.
Overall, this is just a poor quality product and I can't think of anything positive to say about it.
Summary: Don't do it.
