Weight Watchers Mexican Spicy Bean Soup
Description: Manufacturer: Weight Watchers
I must confess that I probably wouldn't have bought this soup myself, but Mrs Assasin is on a bit of a pre Christmas health kick and as such, is trying to ensure that we eat things that are reasonably good for us. So on that basis, I was sent to work with a tin of Weight Watchers Mexican Spicy Bean Soup today, along with a chunk of brown bread (with seeds, which actually went very well with this soup!).
A 400g tin cost her £0.74 from our local supermarket, there are quite a few different flavours available in the range too, so it is worth having a look to see if there is something that appeals to you.
It comes in a purple tin with the logo on the front and a picture of the soup on the label. Half a tin of this soup contains one Weight Watchers point.
It simply warms up in a saucepan or pops into the microwave for around 2 and a half minutes (times vary according to microwave and check and stir half way through cooking) before being ready to serve.
This soup is a great colour, a deep spicy red shade which does look quite appetising. It is jam packed full of beans too, so is pretty filling. I was actually surprised by the flavour, I had expected it to be a bit bland but it wasn't at all. It wasn't overly spicy but had a nice warming kick to it which was quite tasty and was well seasoned too.
It didn't actually feel like this was a Weight Watchers product, which has to be a good thing and it has a spicier taste than some other so called spicy soups that I have tried. Of course it wasn't as good as home made soup, but that is to be expected. On the whole though, as a quick, healthy and tasty lunch, it certainly hit the spot and I would happily have it again!
Summary: I would eat this again!
