... is the first scanner that i have brought,purchased through work from Misco for just over £40.It looks stylish and looks like a more expensive model. It has a resolution of 1200dpi by 2400dpi.It is so easy to use as it only has three buttons on it for copy,scan and email so you don t have to be a brain surgeon to use it. Primax Colorado USB 9600 ... reliable and good specs scanner for the price. A little chuncky but reasonnably quick and quiet. USB connection only, comes with its own cable (worth £10!) and AC adpater. I had it for 4 years without a glitch! Works a treat with PaintShopPro, Photoshop and so on on PC, especially Win95, 98, Me, 2000. On XP it can work as well but the drivers are not supported and quite fiddly to install. Epson Perfection 1200U ... I bought my scanner years ago, I decided that I did not have the money to buy again in a short while and researched the best scanner that I could buy. I needed a scanner that scanned images, but one that also scanned negatives, as I had many memories on negatives although had long since lost the photographs. There were several on the market though some of them seemed really flimsy and not that well put together. I think my love affair with the Epson was when I saw how solid the machine was and I knew that it would do what I wanted it to do. Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II ... do you get your old pre-digi camera family snaps onto your PC? You can pay to have it done by the likes of Jessops, or you can do it yourself. You can either use a flatbed scanner to scan the prints or, if it has a film adaptor, you can scan the negatives or colour slides. However, if you want the best quality images for printing at A4 or even A3, the only answer is to get hold of a dedicated film scanner. Film scanners are available from several of the major camera manufacturers such as Canon, Nikon and Minolta. Brand new, a decent one will set you back £300+ - rather a lot to pay to scan a photo of Granny making a fool of herself you may think, and I agree. So...
