	Epson Perfection V700 Photo ... had an Epson perfection 1650 and it was long over due for a replacement upgrade. As I never had any real problems with my previous Epson I decided I would stick with the same brand an go for the Perfection V700 - a scanner designed specifically for photo scanning but that also acts as an all-purpose scanner. It incorporates Twain and WIA drivers that let you scan from most compatible programs. There also an optical character recognition (OCR) program that converts text images into a document that is in an editable format. The V700 has a maximum resolution of 6,400 pixels per inch, significantly higher than the 2,400-ppi or 3,600-ppi maximum of many dedicated film scanne... 	Canon Canoscan 4400F ... ordered this scanner on the internet and having been unable to examine it in any retail outlet . I had read good reviews on it and given it was a Canon product was relatively inexpensive and would scan slides it was ordered. Sadly while it certainly is very fast and produces excellent scanning results on documents and photographs its a whole different matter when it comes to the slide magazine :- 1) this will not accomodate AGFA plastic slide mounts as they are slightly thicker than Kodak carboard ones or other companies plastic mounts and like many people I have a large stack of AGFA slides all taken over the last 40 years that i wanted to scan onto a CD Not only w... 	Mustek Be@rpaw 1200CU Plus ... may also be an issue but I have happily scanned many photos using it and the resolution has been fine for detailed editing.
