mark_carpenter Agfa Snapscan E20: ... new to the world of scanners, but am very impressed by the quality of the Agfa Snapscan e20. Setting up is very quick, connect the power cable and the USB cable, then plug it into a free USB slot on the PC. Install the Scanwise software from the CD and then all you have to do is double-click the icon on the desktop and it's ready for use. The ScanWise software is well programmed and it looks good. ...

Agfa Snapscan Touch
... SnapScan Touch scanner combines some trendy design with high scan quality for a budget device. Although it has a cream body, it has a translucent white lid with a coloured insert, which can be changed to any of the six colours supplied. This should keep the iMac fraternity happy, as should the scanner's USB connection, which is equally straightforward on iMacs and PCs. The scanner's lid is hinged along its long edge, which means it takes up more room on the desk; this is a feature of dubious benefit. There's a cluster of four control buttons on the scanner's top surface, which initiate some clever software to do things like scanning an image,...

... although I did need a new printer. I didn't want to pay a fortune for the printer as I wasn't going to be doing anything important, so I set out to look for a new, cheap printer. God knows why I ever looked in Argos, but I did, and it was a good job I did - because I found a printer and scanner bundled together for the great price of £100. Agfa Snapscan 1212p
... my old scanner broke, I went out looking for a reasonably priced scanner that delivers good quality scans. The scanner requires a parallel port, so that you plug it into the port that your ptinter would normally be plugged into. But don't worry you can still use your printer, the scanner has two ports in the back of it, one to the PC and then one to your printer. It is also easy to install and it has a very clear instruction book that expains everything easly. Even for a non-computer literate person, it shouldn't be too hard. All though not the faster of all scanners, it still scans at an average rate. Of course what you are scanning effects the time,...
