Canon Canoscan LiDE 25Just 38mm thick, the extraordinarily slender CanoScan LiDE 25 is the obvious choice for the uncluttered desk. Because of LiDE technology's tiny appetite for power, it does not require any clumsy power cords - a single USB cable connected to your computer is the only lead you'll ever need. Despite its diminutive size, the LiDE 25 is big on resolution. Whether you are scanning documents or photos, the 1200 x 2400dpi and 48 bit color depth specification accurately reproduces every fine detail and subtle shade. Your pin sharp results will be suitable for enlargements and post-scan image editing. A 'Scan to PDF' function scans documents straight to PDF (Portable Document Format), speeding up your workflow and doing away with the need for extra conversion software. Text is automatically embedded in PDF files at time of scanning, allowing editing and searching. Because not everything you need to scan comes in a convenient size, the LiDE 25 incorporates an innovative double hinged Z-lid. The lid keeps an even pressure on whatever you place on the glass, making it ideal for scanning thick documents, magazines and books - even small packages. Canon's QARE Level 3 is your on-board photo print correction system. Dust and scratches are automatically detected and corrected, saving hours of manual retouching. Faded colors, excessive graininess and poor exposure can also be corrected. LiDE 25's fast and convenient Multi-Photo Mode creates individual automatically cropped files from a single scan pass of up to 10 separate photos, business cards or other originals. It even de-skews images automatically, saving precious time that would otherwise be spent carefully aligning photos on the glass prior to scanning. Newest Review: ... tool. Rating:
My previous scanner (Agfa SnapScan) would not operate on my new Windows XP Pro system. I needed a replacement that was inexpensive, simple to use and efficient. Having read an endorsement in a computer magazine, and later by some users, I decided to purchase this model. It installed simply without a hitch. The on-line guide is comprehensive, yet easy to follow, and becomes an excellent learn-as-you-go tool. An excellent OCR software package is included (OmniPage SE), together with Scangear, to further enhance the scanning facility. I was surprised at the quality and ease of photo scans. It will function on either USB1 or 2 although it does not ... Read the complete review

This is the first scanner that i have brought, purchased through work from Misco for just over £40.It looks stylish and looks like a more expensive model. It has a resolution of 1200dpi by 2400dpi.It is so easy to use as it only has three buttons on it for copy, scan and email so you don't have to be a brain surgeon to use it. It has your usual usb port but no other slots. Also scans books very well too i was surprised when i tried it.Just make sure that you keep anything flat on it otherwise it's not as good. All in all i was more than happy with my purchase and would'nt hesitate in recommending to anybody for this price. One more thing it's qiute compact too ... Read the complete review
