... Unfortunately, that lid comes spearately for another £60 or so. The installation is easy and problem free, and the software that comes with the scanner is great (photoshop 4 limited edition). The scanner previews every new thing to be scanned, which slows the process down a bit but the quality of the scan is very good indeed. I have enlarged some of the detail in scanned photographs and you could not tell that it had been magnified up, so good was the clarity. I do have a few complaints though. This is not a scanner you will find in most retail outlets. I was hunting on the internet and found this favourably reviewed. It's advantages over most scanners in it's class are as follows. It has an awesome scanning capability of 122x2400 d.p.i, which means that you can get real detail, even at high magnification and scans in up to A4 size pages. It has a new generation scanning eye which allows better 3D capapbility, should you wish to scan 3D objects. It has a lid that allows you to put bulky books underneath, and still lies flat.
