Canon Canoscan LiDE 50The USB 2.0 High Speed interface is the new standard in PC connectivity, making it compatible with Windows and Macintosh operating systems and delivering scan speeds up to four times faster than standard USB scanners. The CanoScan LiDE 50 is further equipped with four EZ-buttons which you can configure to perform the functions you use most. Because I travel a lot for work, I needed a scanner so that I can scan documents and images. I came across this very handy scanner after looking around for a while for a scanner that was portable, useable and most of all, of high quality. I had already tries several other scanners that were of no use to me at all, either too full of features or not at all and not very good. I found that this one had it all. I found it in review site, I can?t remember which one now, but I managed to pick one up from my local hardware store for about 59.99. I had to upgrade to a better scanner from my canon FB630U, I went with the Consumer Reports results and bought a Epson 1260 Photo Scanner because it was rated a faster scan speed than Canon. The Epson was a faster scan but after you had to wait some time for it to warm up. So I sold the Epson and bought the Canon Lide 50 with the high speed usb cable. I was truly amazed beyond the second coming of Christ on how fast and well this scanner works. My old FB630 was slow but this new Canon is everyone's dream come true, the people at Canon has finally gave what the people wanted. Great scans, fast speed, and affordable price.
