Advantages: Fast scan, No warm up time, Great scans

Disadvantages: No Fax button on toolbox, Flimsy Stand, doesn't turn on the wife

I had to upgrade to a better scanner from my canon FB630U, I went with the Consumer Reports results and bought a Epson 1260 Photo Scanner because it was rated a faster scan speed than Canon. The Epson was a faster scan but after you had to wait some time for it to warm up. So I sold the Epson and bought the Canon Lide 50 with the high speed usb cable. I was truly amazed beyond the second coming of Christ on how fast and well this scanner works. My old FB630 was slow but this new Canon is everyone's dream come true, the people at Canon has finally gave what the people wanted. Great scans, fast speed, and affordable price. The only thing that I miss is the Fax button on the canoscan toolbox. I do fax alot from the scanner. Don't always follow Consumer Reports test results, they tend to leave some things out.

Not a bad op, bit brief tho. I was tempted by this scanner actually, is it the one which doesn't need a power cable, just drains the USB??
