Scsi Rules!! (Epson Perfection 1200S)
Member Name: Oblivion
Advantages: SCSI, Fast, Quiet Disadvantages: Scanner Software looks a bit "Old Hat"
This is the SCSI version of the Epson Perfection 1200 scanner and as such costs a little more than the USB version, however comparing the speed of this scanner over the Perfection 1200 USB is nothing short of remarkable. SCSI is the only way to go to transfer huge amounts of data and with this scanner you can certainly scan away to your hearts content!! The software provided is compatible with all flavours of Windows including Windows 2000, the scanner is a cinch to install, the scans superb in quality and the speed just awesome. It's also quiet as well, a feature you don't find on budget SCSI scanners. I bought the 1200S and the additional Negative/Transparency adaptor the total cost coming to around £300, however for this price you get superfast, super quality scanning. The Slide scanning is a sight to behold and is far better than those produced by the USB version. If you want a quality scanner that's fast and also has the capability to be upgraded to the Negative/Transparency adaptor..this is it...SCSI is the way to go. Summary: |
