Advantages: negative scanning, auto scan, good resolution
Disadvantages: bit big
Epson Perfection 1250 scanner is a very good scanner, it is not just a scanner that can scan your normal pictures and text documents. There is a fast track button system on the front which means you can scan things without opening the supplied program. You can copy things straight to the printer just like a photocopier or you can scan to e-mail, in which case the scanner will make the picture the right file size for you internet speed. In the old days you would have to hook your printer to your scanner and then the scanner to the computer and if you did not have the scanner on you could not print. With the introduction of USB ports things are so much simpler, just plug the scanner into a usb port and if you have XP it will install it for you. This means not running more cables around hence less mess. You can get a good resolution of 2400/1200, so you can get crystal clear images but make sure you have a big enough hard drive if you are storing them as they can be 300meg upward if you are going for a photo. The second best feature on this scanner is the auto scan operation, you just place your document into the scanner and tell it to scan, and it will. It will detect if it is a text document or a photo, etc. and will adjust the resolution accordingly. If you are scanning at 2400/1200 resolution some lesser scanners can take an age and make funny noises and sound like it will brake. This one on the other had does it at a nice speed, not to fast not to slow, just right. I had a Trust scanner and it scanned so fast the image did not look very sharp, which is not good. The best feature has to be the negative scanner. You can scan your photo negatives or slides, whether they are colour or black and white, and unlike cheap scanners that may offer this feature this scanner prints photos like you would in a 'dark room', but wthout the need for the nasty smelling chemicals! This feature could one day eliminate photos being printed
at the shop, just the get negatives developed and get a good printer and you have a cheaper way of getting your prints. All this from a scanner that cost around £120, not too bad i think!

- 20/08/03 I've read all of your reviews and they are of the same dire, dreadful and diabolical standard! You make a mockary of dooyoo; you see it as a pure money making scheme! With your writing skills I can't see you getting far. You've been a member 2 days and written 13 reviews, of which none read properly at all!
You manage to write whole paragraphs with one sentence, and the parts that do make sense I know you have gotten from else where! This isn't you work!
When you write a review that makes sense, I will stop posting this comment on it. I have used a different username to wrote these comments to prevent revenge rating, but dooyoo needs to be saved from users like you. 'User' just seems such an applicable term to you! |
