This is actually my work scanner and I have vowed that if I ever leave my job I will buy one for home. It is simply the easiest to use and highest quality scanner I have ever had.
It is small and compact and easily fits on your desk. Basically the two main functions you can use on it are Photo Scanning and PDF scanning.
Photo Scanning - What I like about this function is that the scanner actually recognises the size of the photo, so if you were to scan, for example a passport shot, it would produce an electronic version of ONLY the photo - ie, not an blank white image of the inside of the scanner with a tiny photo in the middle. My job involves me scanning these ona regular basis so it has saved me so much time as I dont get frustrated with cropping and resizing to make them all uniform.
The other function is that it allows you to scan text documents and convert them to PDF. So for example, you are scanning a report of letter, you can scan it and it will automatically save it as a PDF hence allowing you to have an electronic copy of all your documents - I also find this is handy when I need to email something urgent and dont want to have to rely purley on snail mail.
The controls for both of these functions are on the front of the scanner, but there is also software you can install that comes with it so you can do it all onscreen from your mouse. I am not a technologically advanced person in the slightest and I have had no problems navigating this piece of hardware!
I would recomment getting it today - its a great buy
I absoutly love this scanner, it is fantastic and great value for money at £69.99 for a scanner you cant go wrong.
I have so many photos of me and my family when I was a child, and I felt it would be great to buy a scanner and put them onto the computer just in case something happens to the photos I at least know I'll still have kept the wounderful memories on my computer.
Why is this scanner so great?
The scanner accurately recreates images and documents at high resolutions of up to 4800dpi and 3.2 optical density.
The scanner has a capiticy of 6 frames of 35mm filmstrips or 4 frames of 35mm mounted slides.
I found the Scan-to-email button for sending an email message with image attached really useful especially as I have a lot of family in New Zeland I can send them photos without any delay.
The scanner also has a Scan-to-PDF button for saving images in PDF format this is great for people who usually save things in PDF anyway.
The scanner is carefully designed to impress anyone with it's slim black casing standing at a small size of 57mm.
You can scan documments that are up to 25mm in thickness with the lid closed!
Some more advantages...
It has an advanced colour restoration feature this is defaintly useful for my father who has very old photos from his childhood and complained before I bouight this product about his photos fading, with this function you can bring old fadded photos back to life, my dad loves it!
THERES ONLY ONE
One of the disadvantages of this item is that its quiet slow but the quality of the results compensate the slowness of the item.
Although the Epson v200 isnt fast , it is flexible, and great for people who want to spend very little on a scanner.
