Advantages: Easy to use and compact
Disadvantages: None
This is actually my work scanner and I have vowed that if I ever leave my job I will buy one for home. It is simply the easiest to use and highest quality scanner I have ever had.
It is small and compact and easily fits on your desk. Basically the two main functions you can use on it are Photo Scanning and PDF scanning.
Photo Scanning - What I like about this function is that the scanner actually recognises the size of the photo, so if you were to scan, for example a passport shot, it would produce an electronic version of ONLY the photo - ie, not an blank white image of the inside of the scanner with a tiny photo in the middle. My job involves me scanning these ona regular basis so it has saved me so much time as I dont get frustrated with cropping and resizing to make them all uniform.
The other function is that it allows you to scan text documents and convert them to PDF. So for example, you are scanning a report of letter, you can scan it and it will automatically save it as a PDF hence allowing you to have an electronic copy of all your documents - I also find this is handy when I need to email something urgent and dont want to have to rely purley on snail mail.
The controls for both of these functions are on the front of the scanner, but there is also software you can install that comes with it so you can do it all onscreen from your mouse. I am not a technologically advanced person in the slightest and I have had no problems navigating this piece of hardware!
I would recomment getting it today - its a great buy
