It is ideal for use in multimedia and advertising agencies. The Linoscan 1400 runs in Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT operating systems as well as in Apple operating systems. This flexibility enables professional working results in any workflow. The Linoscan 1400, with its high optical resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and a signal resolution of 42 (3 x 14) bits (BET) per pixel element is the top scanner in its class. The integrated transparency unit allows the scanner to process format originals up to 216 x 297 mm for reflective and 216 x 254 mm for transparency.

Consistent color rendition from scanning to printing is guaranteed by ICC profiles, additionally on the Macintosh platform Scanopen LS enables the generation of individual profiles, in the PC world this function is already available in Newcolor 4000. Also included is OCR software, Fontexplorer CD, image database Cumulus LE and a SCSI card for PC-users.
