Advantages: Compact, lightweight, out in PDF format, easily scan A4 for six seconds

Disadvantages: Only monochrome (It's a pity!), no OCR

CapShare is a mobile electronic scanner (or copier). It is compact (10,5 X 14 X 3,85 sm) and weight only 355 g. But this scanner is "intellectual". In difference from traditional scanners, CapShare 920 gives not only "semifinished item" (raster image in a format TIFF), but also made out documents in a format PDF.

The area of grab at it is insignificant. But it, strangely enough, is unimportant. With the help of CapShare it is possible easily to do copies from sheets of a format A4. Inside the system is a complicated system permitting precisely "to paste together" parts of an image and to collect from them the whole document: something like a mosaic. Electronic microscopes fix places of ruptures and superposition's and after the analysis paste together page on seams.

The scanning part is constructed on basic of CIS (contact sensor of an image) with a width of square of scanning of 5 inches. Is not necessary to be afraid, that the hand trembles or movement uncertain. Most important is densely to press and to not separate CapShare from a sheet of a paper in process of scanning. The velocity of movement by the scanner on a sheet is not limited almost, but too to hurry up nevertheless does not cost.

On a sheet A4 it is required OS and microprocessor about six seconds. After that the reduced image of a "pasted together" sheet is removed on the built-in LCD-display. After fool internal processing of the document it can be transmitted directly on the printer, on the compatible wireless pocket device with infrared port or on the personal computer for consequent sending by mail or fax.

HP CapShare 920 can connected with other devices through standard infrared port IrDA 4.0 (productivity is up to 4 Mbit/s with distance up to 1 km) or standard serial port. Scanner worked from two rechargeable NiMH-accumulator (four accumulators and charge system are included in a complete set of delivery) and us
e standard formats of files Adobe PDF and TIF.

As a program platform has selected operational system of real time pSOSystem of corporation Integrated Systems. This ОС ensures a multitask work and is constructed on basis open standards. As the carrier CapShare uses Flash-memory StrataFlash of production Intel. It suffices for storage almost 50 sheets of a format A4.

But CapShare is monochrome device and, in particular, does not allow to copy images of computer screens. The system of optical recognition is not stipulated.

CapShare 920 is the universal "spy" device permitting to do black-and-white copies from the hand-written texts and images.
