Advantages: Very easy to use and good results
Disadvantages: A bit slow.
This HP scanner is a very good amateur scanner. It is very easy to plug, install and use. All you need to do to set up the scanner is to plug it in the back of your computer (with an USB cable) and to plug it in a power socket. After doing that, you should install the CD that comes with the scanner and that is it! It's that easy. The scanner itself is very easy to use. There are just two bottons on the scanner itself. One botton to scan and the other to print. If you press the scan botton, a window will appear on your screen and the scanning will start. If you are not happy with the initial scan, you can scan, changing the image quality or size. Once you are happy with your scan, you can send it to different image programs. This is the good feature about this scanner. It seems like all the other scanners have their own image packages, but with the HP 3300C you can choose where you want to edit your picture. As i am very familiar with Paint Shop Pro, I can edit all my pictures there. The printing botton is also as easy to use. All you need to do is press the printing botton (on the scanner) and have your printer ON. The image will be scanned first, then you get a settings screen where you can change image quality, size, number of copies or darkness. After having chosen all that, you click on COPY and it prints the image you just scanned! As easy as that! The disadvantage of this printer is that it is quite old now and there are faster scanners. This scanner takes quite a while to get started, but after the first scan it scans fast. Appart from its speed, this scanner is very very good and I would recomment it to anyone! PS: And contrary to what someone else said, I have windows ME and this scanner works fine!
