Advantages: Good quality Scanning

Disadvantages: Poor quality lid

The `double edged Sword` scanner I like to call this.
Scanning quality is second to none on this budget Scanner. It cuts the mustard as far as picture quality and resolution is concerned. When it does get let down is in its design, size and looks.
I really dislke this scanner as far as the above are concerned. True, most modern scanners have a very flimsy lid as far as the cover goes. You put your paper face down and shut it. But this lid is made of a translucent blue/clear plastic that almost bends in your hand. I suppose it does not help having a big chunk cut out of it for the buttons that are mounted on the actual body of the scanner.
They can be operated with the lid down.
The 3 options for the scanner are :
Print
Scan
Email.

All done from the scanner. Not from software or menu navigation. Quite handy if you have it set up properly.
I find it scans when it feels like it. Without me pressing the buttons. Its very annoying at work when Im trying to code.
I normally disconnect it when its not in use now.
It is handy having a USB connection to it. Much quicker than my old parrallel port connecting scanner.
It does its job but it is a bit ugly and flimsy.
It depends what you want from your scanner. Its mainly down to personal preference. It is only £70 on one hand and a good price for the quality. It is Hewlett Packard after all so it is known the world over for its quality.
I personally think there are better scanners on the market with better quality casing.

..and it's really chunky and sturdy, (as I was about to say before I got interrupted..) but it scans fine.
They don't make them like they used to...etc.

Urk! It's bad enough that I keep accidently kicking my printer which is at least fairly sturdy, but this scanner wouldn't last two seconds in my room! Thanks for the warning about the lid!
