Advantages: Size and quality for price

Disadvantages: Over complicated bundled software

This replaced an ancient scanner and the dpi was so much higher on the Hewlett Packard. It doesn't do slides or negatives like my old one, but the image quality is very good for under £40. It can also do 3d images quite well, but I've yet to find a great use for this. The software that comes with it seems to have too many knobs and whistles if you just want to scan a single document quickly. It loads up everything in "My Pictures", which can take a long time and makes the PC hang for a while, I can't seem to find out a way to stop this, as I just may want to scan and print out without it loading up all my extensive photo collection beforehand. Maybe someone else may know the way round this. On the plus side it is very compact and scans books really well.

Summary: Reasonably priced scanner with low profile.
