Primax Colorado USB 9600:
... reliable and good specs scanner for the price. A little chuncky but reasonnably quick and quiet. USB connection only, comes with its own cable (worth £10!) and AC adpater. I had it for 4 years without a glitch! Works a treat with PaintShopPro, Photoshop and so on on PC, especially Win95, 98, Me, 2000. On XP it can work as well but the drivers are not supported and quite fiddly to install. (I don t have XP so ... Read the full review: Colorado 9600 USB by jbbolcato |

Primax Colorado Direct 9600 ... If you are in search of a scanner please read this, so you know what not to get. This is the first scanner I have bought and has probably put me off them for ever. It is the Primax Colorado Direct 9600. I got it bundled with my Computer, that I realise was my biggest mistake. Anything that seems like a bargain and is bundled with some goodies is probably going to be a con. My first problem was that if I try to scan above its minimum resolution level it freezes and along with that the software also stops responding, making my PC crash. My second problem was that it sometimes doesn't even scan. I believe that this could be resolved by switching the ha... Read the full review: Buying a scanner then don't ignore this. by thehulk |

Primax Colorado 19200 USB ... have had this scanner for a year and a half now & am very pleased with it. It is very easy to install & use. The optical recognition software given with the scanner is almost perfect with typed text but useless with handwriting. It also recognises EXREMELY fast (about 20 seconds for a full A4 text page). It scans very fast (sorry, haven’t timed it) using the USB port. You can see a preview of the image being scanned so you adjust the light / contrast / colour before doing the full scan. You can scan in colour, black & white or grey scale. You can change the resolution from 72dpi to 19200dpi. It’s very easy to clean dust off using normal window cleaners. It a...
