Umax Powerlook III Pro ... service bureaus, professional photography and photo labs. The PowerLook III, a part of the PowerLook family of professional quality scanners, combines 42-bit color output with Bit Enhancement Technology and a maximum optical density of up to 3.4 D max. This creates high-quality scans from images as small as 35mm slides with complete versatility for scanning multiple media formats: transparencies, slides, reflectives and negatives. The PowerLook III uses CDS (Correlated Double Sampling) technology to purify image signals and filter out low frequency noise. CDS uses built-in intelligent algorithms to sample the digital information twice rather than just once. By comparing the two samples, the algorithms can validate accuracy, one against the other, to remove errors and ensure perfect image quality.

The Professional version of the scanner (PowerLook III Pro) includes MagicScan. Magicscan features include RGB, Lineart and Grayscale scanning. It also comes with Binuscan Photoperfect RGB/CMYK. Binuscan Photoperfect provides exceptionally high-quality results from transparencies and reflective prints with the click of the scan button. Using a pre-calibrated "Module" Binuscan assesses the image and performs a color correction and enhancement of the image. This will produce a vastly improved result in terms of sharpness and detail compared to a corrected scan via a color correction package. The modules can be modified to meet the requirements of your printing device.
