Due to the small size of the college, it is quite a small close community in which you can make a very big range of friends (by having friends in your own lessons, and then getting to know their friends in their lessons etc.).

The college has a wide range of people from areas not just from Blackpool, but also all the major towns and villages of the Fylde and Wyre districts. Transport is also never a problem with major bus routes running from wherever you want; there is also a train station about a 20 minute walk away in Poulton, creating an even bigger ease with getting to your lessons on time. A large car park and a bike area are both also available for the people who choose to drive or cycle.

The college day consists of 6 periods, which one period being dinner, and then an additional 20 minute break. The most amount of timetabled sessions you have each day is 5 -from 8.45 to 3.55, although you can go in much earlier, and stay much later, with extra sessions on sometimes each night. Every Wednesday is also half-day allowing students to take up a recreational subject (many include football, martial arts, badminton...) or go home early.

The college itself contains a number of low buildings which are separated into various departments, with each one given its own name (such as the 'wire' building or 'Brock'), making it easier to find where you classroom is for the next lesson (each room starts with the letter of the building - for example B001 is in Brock).

A new building is currently being constructed replacing the Old 'Wire' building which opens in August 08, which will be a high tech Science and Technology Building, containing a large Learning Resource area on the ground floor with the departments of Science and Leisure, Sport & Tourism using the other 2 floors.

Overall id say Blackpool Sixth Form College is a good place to be, very different to school in the way that all the staff treat you like young adults, with most of the people in each subject because they chose to be, not like they had to be at school.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: good variety of subjects to choose from

A good insight into your college. If it were me I'd not have listed everything that they do as it can be discovered from a website or prospectus but hey, that's me!
