Schools & Sixth Form Colleges in general:
... seems to be a perennial debate as to what is better - a sixth form or a college? I attended the sixth form of my school for my A-Levels, and having visited actual colleges, I can see that there are pros and cons with each. In any programme such as this, you re generally studying for A-Levels. My sixth form (The Boswells College) allowed student to pick up to four subjects of their own, with General Studies also b... Middlesbrough College ... college is the largest college in the Teesside area. It is a single central building to replace the four previous sites which operated in the town up until 2008. Middlesbrough College is located on the riverside, slightly along from the Riverside Stadium, and is a central feature in the redevelopment of the run down riverside area. Externally the building is striking. A real feat of modern architecture, it looks like its coated in the shiny silver stuff spaceships are made from. The building is designed to reflect the areas shipbuilding heritage, and is a definate love it or hate it feature. The building is not without its flaws, for example the riversid... Leith's School of Food and Wine ... 2006, I finished school and my mother thought it was high-time I learnt how to cook (as I had always been very lazy in the kitchen in terms of mains and desserts). For my 18th birthday I was given a 4 week Cookery Course at Leith s School of Food and Wine in Kensington. I was a little hesitant at first, imagining pompous french chefs shouting at us in a sweaty kitchen for not having the right hat on when cutting broccoli as opposed to onions. The truth was far from what I had imagined though. The introduction to cooking we received was efficient, informative, creative and delicious. The purpose of the course was really to give us the confidence we needed to co... Read the full review: Fantastic food, fantastic school.... Bit of a treat by anna_perfecta |

Schools & Sixth Form Colleges in general ... Form- What a difference I am currently in the Sixth form at the school I have attended for the past 5 years! I have to say that it is a very large step up from Gcse level and I did not expect such a difference. Moving Up (General) In year 11, there is a lot of pressure on you to achieve the best grades as possible. After Gcse s, teachers make out you can relax but this is not the case. You have a lot more responsibilities and options as a sixth former but the work load only gets worse the older you get. The big changes that take place from Y11 to Y12 are that in some places you get to wear your own clothes, teachers have a more relaxed attitude because they know ...
