Advantages: Good student teacher relationships
Disadvantages: You miss out on college life
I went to St Angelas and St Bonaventures sixth form centre. It was a good experience. I would suggest that a sixth form is better than a further education college because it allows you to have a closer relationship with your tutors.
I found that because it was a sixth form centre, class sizes were small and therefore every student had the attention of the tutor.
An example is my media studies class, which only had 5 students. This allowed our tutor to give us all the help she could. It also meant that we had greater access to any equipment we needed for our projects.
I would therefore advise students who want to further their studies to think about a sixth form rather than a further education college.
