Advantages: friendly people, great staff, helpful etc etc

Disadvantages: none

I left school at 14 because of my caring commitments, so I didn't have the opportunity to sit my GCSE's.
Now that I'm older, I'm worried about my future, what happens when my dad dies, I have no education, I probably won't have any where to live, and little experience coping with situations.
Obviously being a carer I don't have many friends, and I don't really socialise very often.

I sat down with my dad, and explained to him, that I needed to gain some qualifications, he agreed and we agreed that I would be better, studying at home.
I made inquiries to lots of colleges in my area, but the cheapest GCSE course was £50, I don't have this sort of money, I had almost given up.
The only college I hadn't phoned was Kings Hedges in Cambridge, to be honest I thought they would charge a fortune, I plucked up the courage to phone, and I was extremely surprised when they quoted £12 per GCSE subject.
I was invited to an interview, at the college, I was given a guided tour and shown all the facilities, and shown the work I would need to do.
I was even given a maths test to determine what level I should apply for; I'm pleased to say that, I was good enough to do higher maths.
Their open learning is done through the NEC, which is the best home study establishment, I can use all the college's facilities, and I have my own tutor.

Since I applied I am now doing an A level course an another GSCE.
I have been supported all the way by King's Hedge, as long as you have the will to learn they are there to support you all the way.
