Advantages: Fab facilities, central, wide array of courses, good associations

Disadvantages: Cant think of any! When I filled in my UCAS, I only put Abertay, not the recommended 5 choices!

I studied for my biology degree at The University of Abertay Dundee, and it is an excellent university. The laboratory facilities are brilliant, with many labs for different disciplines. I can only speak for my course, but the lecturers were in the main all friendly, approachable and helpful.

The university itself is in a great location, with some very much improved facilities since I attended, namely the new student association building. I have not been inside this, as the plans and fighting were still all over the place when I was a student. But from the outside it looks impressive! The library is also excellent, very well stocked and comfortable, with a lot of IT suites in addition to the many IT suites in the main university building. The location is nice and central with plenty of pubs and the main shopping centres close by, as well as being within easy walking distance from the rail station, car parks and bus stops. There are also a lot of student accommodation within minutes walk.

Summary: Excellent university in a vibrant city
