Christmas Gift Ideas for Women
Being a woman myself I find it very easy to buy presents for women and always have plenty ideas as it comes around to Christmas time so for the women in my life and the odd gift for myself I recommend the following.
1. Smellies - This category can cover a wide range of different items as there are so many gifts to choose from. Gone are the days when smellies were really boring, ie a Lavender smelling set for your granny or a bottle of Charlie. These days there are so many amazing gift sets for women and one of my favourite places to go for this is Boots. I love browsing their aisles at this time of year as they have lots of my favourite products all packaged up together and often with a nice makeup bag or travel vanity case as well. For example some of the Soap and Glory sets they do are wonderful and make some really great gifts. At the moment Boots are running a 3 for 2 on all Soap and Glory gift sets so if you have lots of girls to buy for (mum, sister, friends etc) like I do then this is a really great way of saving money and getting some Advantage points for yourself too. The one I actually have my eye on at the moment and the one that may be making its way onto my bathroom shelf is the Soap and Glory Packed cosmetic case which not only has a really nice make up case but inside you will find a blusher, liner and a gloss, all for just £22 which I think is really good value.
Boots is also a great place to buy the women in your life perfume at this time of year. If you are an Advantage card holder like I am you may have received a coupon in the post with some money off perfume when you spend a certain amount. Not only do Boots stock a great range of Perfumes they also again do a lot of nice perfume sets where you get a perfume and a body lotion with it too.
2. Jewellery - Just about every girl I know likes jewellery and yes, although I would love some diamonds this year I probably won't get them. Jewellery doesn't have to be expensive, a nice costume piece can look just as nice as a piece that costs thousands. I always find a nice place to go for good quality, well priced bits and pieces is Monsoon/Accessorize. They do a wide range of really nice necklaces, earrings, bracelets etc that start at around the £5 and go up to say £30-£40 but I always find you can buy a nice necklace for about £10 and this is usually where I go to get a friend something. We don't spend much on each other, £10 is about the limit so I always know I will find something nice in here.
I'm really into personalised jewellery at the moment. I think its because I'm now a mum but I'm a bit obsessed with necklaces and bracelets that you can put peoples names on. This year I've actually asked my husband for a necklace with the kids names on as I think this is a really nice way of keeping them close with you at all times and I find the best place to look for pieces like this is www.notonthehighstreet.com. I've you've never visited this site before I definitely recommend it, its a site where you can find pretty much anything you want and have the ability to personalise a lot of different things on here with about 1,000 choices of different jewellery.
3. Doing presents - A lot of the time I like to give people a present that involves a treat rather than just an actual physical presents as sometimes I think we can end up with just too much stuff. For example this year I am going to buy my mum theatre tickets (Singing in the Rain) I think but there are so many shows, plays, ballets to choose from, the choice is endless and as she is near London its a perfect gift for her. In the past I have also bought her an afternoon tea experience and a spa day as well. We have a really nice stately home near us that offers both of these things in a really beautiful setting so I think its nice to give a day where they will enjoy themselves and have fun and have something to look forward to after Christmas is done.
My list could go on and on, clothes, chocolates, make up, etc, but I think whats important is if you buy them something special with some thought put in to it and then it doesn't matter how much you've spent just that you've thought about them and made them smile.
