I recently purchased a Mac Pro to perform Movie editing tasks. My intention was to replace my iMac power Pc which was not compatible nor fast enough for iMovie and Final Cut. The Mac Pro has 4 HDD bays which allows you to store tons of movie files and music on one great computer! The Mac Pro is able to perform tasks such as movie editing quickly and efficiently. With enough memory or RAM, you are able to process two movies and read your emails all at the same time without breaking a sweat!
I use my Mac Pro as a regular PC to read daily emails as well as doing intense movie editing tasks using Final Cut and iMovie. The Mac Pro is an all around not crash prone computer. Having a quick processor, lots or RAM matched with a good video card is also a good combo for gaming! For the games that are out in the Mac Format, the Mac Pro handles playing intensive games flawlessly!
If you happen to need extra HDD space on your computer, all you have to do is buy a internal HDD, slide open the right side panel of the Mac Pro and pick one of the four bays. Once you have picked a bay, simply push the HDD in the slot and your set! In my fist bay, I have a 320G HDD; in the second bay, I have a 1TB HDD. Both of my HDD are 7200 RPM. The components in the Mac Pro are all easily upgraded weather it be RAM or even the video card, they are all upgradeable.
The Mac Pro is a real piece of art! It is made out of aluminum and has a distinctive design. Even though aluminum is very light, the Mac Pro is still very heavy. The first time I picked up my Mac Pro and had to bring it up a flight of 20 stairs, I knew the Mac Pro was a solid computer and it was not going to be stollen with ease.
The Mac pro has two dual-link DVI ports (which allows to be connected to two monitors or a monitor and a projector at the same time), USB ports in the front and the back as well as fire wire ports in the front and the back of the computer. The Mac pro also has Ethernet and phone Line ports in the back. Unfortunately, the Mac Pro does not come standard with a 802.11 N wireless card. If you do not order the Mac Pro with a wireless card, the only way you will get wireless Internet on your computer afterwards is by buying a USB adapter or By Changing the logic board (over £700). What I am trying to say is make sure you include the wireless N card when purchasing you Mac Pro.
To conclude, you can't go wrong buying the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro will perform well at anything you may throw at it. I highly recommend the Mac Pro to anyone wanting to edit Movies using Apple software. Apple software is very easy to learn and fun to work with. One word, pay extra and get the wireless 802.11 N card pre-installed in the Mac Pro, you will not regret it!
Whether you're editing feature films or scoring them, composing symphonies or visualizing mass spectrometry analyses, Mac Pro makes it easier than ever to create your personal dream machine: A powerful system that not only meets your needs today but, thanks to an ingeniously designed enclosure, expands easily to meet tomorrow's challenges as well.
The easy-access interior of the Mac Pro feels like the well-organized workstation it is. No rat's nest of components here. You don't need to turn the system on its side or struggle to reach into awkward spaces to make changes. Just remove the side panel for instant access to everything. Slide out the processor tray to add memory. Slide out drive bays to add storage. Slide a simple bar to change up to four expansion cards at once. And with plenty of I/O ports both front and back, you'll have room for all your external devices.
When it's time to upgrade, a quick slide of the retention bar frees up the four expansion card slots for easy access. Thanks to a thumbscrew PCI bracket, you can swap out cards without any tools.
The Mac Pro comes with four drive bays for an enormous amount of internal storage. For faster access to your data, you can also configure your Mac Pro with up to four solid-state drives. The bays are direct-attach and cable free, so it's easy to add or remove drives. Just attach the drive carrier to a drive and slide the drive into place. There are no connectors or cables to contend with. Lock the drives with the side door latch, and you're done.
Install more memory in your Mac Pro in a snap. Literally. The easy-access interior lets you slide out the processor tray in one smooth motion, then simply snap new memory into place. You don't have to dig around inside the computer or wrestle with wires or cables.
The Mac Pro is built with a recyclable aluminum enclosure. Aluminum is very desirable to recyclers, which means the raw materials used in the Mac Pro can be reused in other products. Apple also simplified the internal design, replacing over 6 feet of cables with more material-efficient connectors that allow easy disassembly at end of life. In addition, one of the few remaining plastic assemblies in the Mac Pro is made from postconsumer recycled plastic.
