HP High Performance Cluster LC Series LC2016 Model-G ... Computing LC Series of compute farm clusters is the first announcement in a series of HP IA32 High Performance Computing solutions. The LC Series is designed to give the entry to mid range high performance computer customer a range of cluster performance choices.

The LC 2016 Model-G is the 16-node Pentium P4 Xeon Linux Cluster, which consists of a DL380 Control node/Management Server, 15 DL360 Compute nodes, 1 HP Procurve 5308xl Non Blocking Switch with 4 HP Procurve Switch XL 100/1000-T modules, 1 HP Procurve 2650 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch, a Rackmount keyboard/ mouse and monitor, in a 10642 (42U) Rack.

This model is a more robust communications cluster over the 10/100 Fast Ethernet cluster by a simple parameter for the onboard NIC support of the ProLiant DL360 and DL380. This cluster can be used as a Proof of Concept cluster with easy extendibility to 32 nodes. This cluster also used as a parallel cluster but with MPI support allows a moderate Message Passing Interface (MPI) environment for message based applications where higher I/O bandwidth and message latency becomes a critical performance factor.
