HP High Performance Cluster LC Series LC2016 Model-M ... Computing LC Series of compute farm clusters is the first announcement in a series of HP IA32 High Performance Computing solutions. The LC Series is designed to give the entry to mid range high performance computer customer a range of cluster performance choices.

LC 2016 Model-M is the 16-node Pentium P4 Xeon Linux Cluster, which consists of a DL380 Control node/Management Server, 15 DL360 Compute nodes, 1 Myrinet XP 3 Slot Switch Frame and Switch Modules, 2 HP Procurve 2650 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switches, a Rackmount keyboard/ mouse and monitor, in a 10642 (42U) Rack.

This 16-node cluster is designed for heavy MPI inter node communications using the newly announced Myrinet XP Fibre interconnect and Switch. Proof of Concept is the design point here with easy scale out to 32 additional nodes and additional Myrinet Switch Modules. This cluster supports two Procurve 2650 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switches to accommodate both out of band management and internal cluster management and monitoring, thus allowing the Myrinet cluster interconnect to be used exclusively as a message passing network for the best I/O bandwidth and latency that can be achieved.
