HP High Performance Cluster LC Series LC2064 Model-F ... Computing LC Series of compute farm clusters is the first announcement in a series of HP IA32 High Performance Computing solutions. The LC Series is designed to give the entry to mid range high performance computer customer a range of cluster performance choices. The node sizes and interconnect options to satisfy a range of uses and application environments from 16 node non blocking switched 10/100 Fast Ethernet clusters to 128 node high bandwidth low latency message passing clusters using the de facto compute cluster interconnect standard Myrinet XP Fiber NICs and Switches. With the 11 individual pre-configured cluster configurations, the customer has a wide choice of options to meet their specific computing needs.

LC 2064 Model-F is the 64-node Pentium P4 Xeon Linux Cluster that consists of a DL380 Control node/Management Server, 63 DL360 Compute nodes, 1 HP Procurve 5308xl Switch, 3 HP Procurve Switch XL 10/100-TX modules, 2 HP Procurve 2650 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switches for Cluster Management and Monitoring and Out of Band Management, a Rackmount keyboard/ mouse and monitor, in 2 10642 (42U) Racks.

This mid range cluster offers extremely consistent parallel performance using the Procurve 5308xl as the cluster interconnect. The non-blocking switched architecture concept provides the most cost effective non contentious interconnects to allow for minimal overhead in these configurations as it relates to data transfer or application results being passed between nodes. The Procurve 2650 switches are supporting the Management and monitoring and the Out of Band management functions.
