The Magnia Z310 consists of three components - the system unit, the external hard drive unit and the external device bay unit. These three units can be mixed and matched into a variety of configurations to meet your company's specific needs. The basic system unit alone provides performance for demanding applications. If you need extra storage, or want to run a small database, you can add up to two external hard disk drive units connected to a dual-channel SCSI RAID controller. You can further expand the system to include a tape backup device by using the external device bay unit or by having the tape drive installed directly in the system unit. A DDS-4 or AIT-2 tape unit or a DDS-4 or AIT-2 autoloader can be added as backup units. And for a complete backup solution, Dantz Retrospect Backup Software is available to protect valuable network data both on the server and individual PCs.

The unique scalability of the Magnia Z310 allows you to start with a solution for an individual workgroup or department, and link multiple servers as your network expands. And the small form factor lets you go from pedestal to rack mount as you add servers without taking up a lot of space. The Magnia Z310 is Wi-Fi (802.11b)-certified, to provide compatibility and seamless integration with Wi-Fi wireless devices, including Toshiba's wireless notebooks and PDAs. What's more, the wireless network runs with data transmission speeds comparable to wired LAN connection. The Magnia Z310 frees your portable users to work wherever they want within your organization. Built-in wireless compatibility allows the Magnia Z310 to act as a Wi-Fi stand-alone access point for portable LAN computing. In addition, the Magnia Z310 allows remote administration from a wireless notebook or PDA within the wireless LAN.
