Christian aid is a campaigning organisation that helps people regain their normal life when a disaster has happened for example on Boxing Day 2005 their was the terrible tsunami and Christian aid helped over 100,000 people to regain their normal life. Christian Aid are different from other aid agencies in lots of ways. Christian Aid works with local organisations in other countries - their partners - instead of sending out field workers to those countries. This ensures that money is spent appropriately and that projects work effectively - people with real knowledge of the situation are making the decisions. This means that Christian Aid's projects in Afghanistan are still continuing when Western Aid workers have all left the country.
