Connexions DirectNewest Review: ... going with him on occasion. He complains that Connexions are "useless" as they haven't found him a job. My friend on the other half, believes that they have offered as much help and advice as humanly possible, and constantly remind him that it is not their responsibility to find him a job, but his own. An average conversation with a Connexions Personal Adviser goes as ... more |

Connexions Direct are a government funded service for 13-19 year olds, and this age remit extends to age 25 if the young person has a disability (physical or emotional). They are available from 8am to 2am and can be contacted by telephone, webchat, email, SMS and minicom. They now have new methods of contacting their service too, moderated chatrooms (which allow people to discuss issues with other young people as well as trained advisers), message boards and webcams. This means there are loads of ways that people can get in touch and talk in confidence. They are a freephone number and happy to call you back if you need them to. You can even book callbacks for a ... Read the complete review

Connexions Direct is set up by the goverment which gives the chance to help younger people in life. Its set up to help those aged between 13-19 and get some help with their career. When I was 17 I had to go to a interview here to discuss my career options. I got to say the advice here was friendly but they could not offer much. They have jobs available with poor pay just the minimum wage and also they have some unpaid jobs which you can attend to. They do not help you find jobs but can help you with other problems like money and finding the right course you want. The help and support I got of one of their advisers here was just really helpful. ... Read the complete review

Connexions Direct is an organisation that's run by the government to help young people aged 14-19. They say that they offer advice on 'a range of topics' which in practice means health and sex education, money and working. When I was at school there was not very much careers advice and once when I was out shopping I walked past a Connexions Direct and decided to go in and see if I could get some careers advice. I walked in and looked around at the leaflets, whilst the staff sat at their desks looking at their computer screens. I thought one of them would approach me but they didn't, so gingerly I walked over and asked if they offered careers ... Read the complete review

Connexions are forced down your throat from school until sometime after your 20th. They make spam phone calls constantly until they have your life's story plus all sorts of irrelevant information they are told to talk about in order to appear friendly. They sent letters which literally contain no info at all - they are about a paragraph long and are obviously only there to advertise there offices. I have told them many many times I'm not interested, they ignore emails and dodge rejection in phone calls better than bankers on commission. They have files on everyone which they phone round updating but never use as everyone gets the same service and the ... Read the complete review
