i have never had any problems with dunraven windows, i have used them 3 times over the last few years, my last renovation being my orangery and i will say i love it, it make such a difference to my house, so thank you Dunraven, im sure ill be using you in the future!
We paid a considerable amount for a Dunraven conservatory which we were initially very pleased with. The work was done efficiently and on time. Unfortunately we now have a most unpleasant damp and mould issue on the wall adjoining our kitchen. Dunraven have sent various service men round and now claim this is the fault of our flat roof which needs repair. We accept that this may be the case but why didn't their surveyor identify that there might be a problem in his original survey so we could have remedied it before the conservatory work was done. Now we face further disruption, removing mould and redecorating! They were quick enough to follow up the work with persistent phone calls trying to sell us further products but have been less helpful since. They are not easy to contact and often don't return phone calls when they say they will. We are concerned that if we arrange to get the work done ourselves ,the problem may still reoccur and Dunraven will still be unhelpful.
I have read some of the reviews on here and can only disagree from my experience. The surveyor called back to me for further discussion at my request as I had a few thing to go back through that we had not thought about at the time of survey. I can only say that I would recommend them. My windows and doors which they have just completed, are fitted to a high quality standard they may not be cheapest but you want the quality I believe? On the day of fitting they protected your carpets and completed each session within a few hours. I was surprised how quick the fitting was. Very polite and helpful installers. I had renewed my kitchen and bathroom and the tiling area around the windows was not the best. The new windows have now finished of these rooms perfectly. I have had other work done with this company previously so I was a returning satisfied customer. If there are any issues they will call out to put right.
AVOID. DO NOT USE THEM. NIGHTMARE COMPANY They knocked on the door to do a quote. They then refused to speak to my wife as said they "best speak to the man of the house"! Rude. They then have continued to ring our landline or mobiles every few months for the last 2 years trying to sell us their awful windows. We have asked them to stop calling us every time they call. They ignore us and carry on the harassment. They are bullies who have a rubbish product and the most dreadful sales people. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR DETAILS OR LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE
Received a quote for a conservatory that we agreed on, paid a deposit and then the company came back to us and asked for another £10,000 for more groundworks!!!! The Salesman (who was really unprofessional, should of raised the alarm) told me that they used to have a sales office on my site (new estate) which I now know to be completely untrue, he also stated that he had finished upwards of 20 on my estate (again I now know that this is untrue). I could have gone to court over the matter of the initial price but after dealing with them it was clear that I did not want them to build anything anywhere near my house, so I let it go. Since then, I have has almost weekly sales calls from the company although they knew all of my details, but also rather more worryingly, I have had daily sales calls from every other stupid company in the country after avoiding getting my number on any sales databases (and I've had the same number since 1996) even though I specifically asked the Salesman not to do this, but the calls started the following day! They have also turned up to my front door on 3 occasions since and asked me if I had reconsidered their offer!!! I regret ever dealing with this bunch of idiots, DO NOT make the same mistake that I did.
Front door & porch bought, some 3 months ago. ( 2 doors & porch £10.5 K) Reasonable sales pitch, good quality materials, ABSOLUTE RUBBISH INSTALLATION from "Wales & South West's number one fabricator & installer". Door panels & windows failed to arrive. Block work full of cracks and gaps in the mortar Gaps in the ceiling of porch and silo on seal. Guttering leaking water at the first shower of rain. Installer made a right hash of the trunking ( cutting away bits rather than moving junction boxes by 2" ) Door handle worked loose after 2 days. Trying to get in touch with the installation manager was like trying to wrestle an eel. Customer service - nil Very pushy about getting the final payment even when snagging was not completed ( eventually I threatened to cancel the cheque). To put the tin hat on it, they then called to try to sell me some other products on the back of the work done. Like I told the salesman " when you've been to a restaurant, had poor service, been charged the earth and ended up with food poisoning, the last thing you want to be offered is another meal there -AT ANY PRICE " My suggestion - DON'T EVEN CALL FOR A QUOTE !
We gave Dunraven our phone number in Ikea as we were looking to replace our garden door with french doors. After 2 weeks of hounding us with phone calls we finally agreed to let a salesman round. When he arrived he said he was some kind of regional sales manager and after (poorly) measuring the door and showing us all these bogus certificates, he came up with a quote for £2500... ?!?!? After around 90 SECONDS, which was around the time it took for our jaws to lift off the ground, he had reduced this to £1200 if we agreed to sign his contract there and then... !?!?!?!!?!? Incidentally this was after I'd made it perfectly clear that I would not be willing to sign anything when he arrived. He then wasted the next 15 minutes of our lives trying everything from pressure selling, to getting me and my wife to disagree. How can a quote only be valid while the salesman is in my house?? Could it possibly be because he knows I'll check out his company once he's (finally) left? If you've read this review they probably already have your phone number but don't bother wasting your time with a bunch of cowboys, I'm NEVER GOING TO GET THOSE 15 MINUTES BACK...
I had a conservatory fitted by Dunraven around 3 months ago and im very please with it, so far there's been no problems and I went for the self cleaning glass, and omg it works! its amazing! It was more expensive but id defiantly say to get it.I feel bad from all the bad reviews I've been reading, I was very sceptical but the product is really nice and yes they did ring a bit after I had the conservatory but I spoke to a very apologetic lady who rang me and I asked her to take me off their list cause im not ready for the windows to be changed yet... so far so good : )
Asked for just a quote for a conservatory. Representative was only suppose to be here for an hour. 3 hours later we finally got rid of him!!!! Pushy as hell and now they keep calling to try and get our business. Would not touch them. Really expensive compared to others even when (we were told) they have their own builders merchants and the trade costs are passed on to the customer. NOT. To those who understand, we have a floating floor in our house. The rep. said the conservatory would have to be built up with hardcore and concrete. More expense to us and more profit to Dunraven. When asking the rep. questions about the work they would carry out and access to pipework was given so much waffle it was obvious he didn't have a clue on what the work entailed. Surely a rep. should be able to answer any questions or be able to get the right answer rather than give b******t. My advice. AVOID. Had to give them 1 star to allow the review to go through. Would of given none.
advice to all out there DONT GO WITH DUNRAVEN FOR DOOR OR CONSERVERTARIES they are one big rip off ive just lost 2500 deposit and the woman was laughing to my wife on the other end saying we only got seven days to cancel but we cancelled after ten anyone can help me to try and get some money back the reason we cancelled was a friend of mine had conservetory with them and it caved in after a year
Dunraven came to give a quote and we initially thought it looked ok if a bit expensive compared with others. We didn't want to commit to two doors but the guy said that we could always just get one done and cancel the other. This was a blatant lie and, despite our protestations, they have been calling at all hours, leaving rude and patronising messages and have now threatened legal action based on 'admin charges and potential lost margin'. The lowest of all operations, I would avoid them and don't believe the glossy hype they occasionally have posted on review sites and their own. Would be happy to hear of anyone who has had similar experiences and any ways to get out of this. There are multiple positive reviews of Dunraven (I've seen at least more than one by the same person....) but I'd advise extreme caution if even giving them your phone number.
Salesmen were very thoughtful about getting what we wanted, and getting it at a reasonable price. The job was completed in one day with no mess left to clean away and fantastic results!
April 2010 had the 'owner' of the business come in to give us a quote ( after a very pushy sales call) we told him we couldn't afford it until our other house had sold. he told us not to worry and we could book anytime in the future as long as we paid £500 deposit NOW and gave us £8000 off our order. Like a fool we fell for it. Dunraven 'penciled' a date in for end of April. I emailed them and said not to do it as we hadn't sold our house. I arrived home one day to find a sample BRICK at the side of my house wrapped in a piece of paper with SAMPLE written on it. I phoned them up and spoke to the most arrogant woman in my life who told me basically tough luck it's going to be done on that date or we would be taken to court. I told her what the owner said and she told us tough luck as there was nothing in writing to prove it. I had to take a loan out for the money as when we contacted our solicitor they told us Dunraven had us by the 'short and curlies' as it would cost as much to take them to court as the conservatory. We managed to get the money ( after nearly having a nervous breakdown) and when the builders started they built the trench then ran out of materials and we had to wait 3 weeks for them to come back ( this was AFTER we'd been told the builders had to do the work as they couldn't be out of work for 3 weeks as it was schedules to take only 3 weeks to build). After about 4 phonecalls the builders came back and after a week the work was finished. The roof was left really dirty and the doors don't shut properly. for 4 months now i've emailed, written, called, cried and cried and been given promise after promise that someone would call and come out to fix the doors properly ( if it wasn't for the fact it cost us over £20,000 maybe i wouldn't have kicked up a fuss so much) but i've now had 3 reps call me to get more business out of me... no way! after i've now threatened ( oh don't send them emails by the way, they'll deny ever receiving them.. and the only email address they have on their paperwork they'll deny is anything to do with the Sales dept even though it's put on your sales invoice!!). I've now threatened to take it to the papers and go to my solicitor for advice... oh what a surprise. They contacted me today ( 4 months later) to tell me someone will be here on Friday to fix my door... I won't hold my breath) . All I can say is NEVER, EVER have DUNRAVEN to do anything for you... it's not worth the hassle, the woman on the end of the phone is the MOST arrogant i've ever dealt with and made me so upset my husband had to call and complain. DO NOT HAVE DUNRAVEN TO DO ANY WORK FOR YOU - THEY CARE ABOUT NOTHING OTHER THAN TAKING YOUR MONEY WHATEVER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. you've been warned...
Recently bought 6 windows from Dunraven, sales representative offered very good advice and windows were all fitted without any problems.
Biggest mistake I ever made was allowing Dunraven windows representative into my house. More to follow.
