Advantages: Their qualifications are innovative and well planned

Disadvantages: They can't deliver them

Firstly, I should say that I haven't had any contact with Edexcel since 2002 when I was doing A Levels, so things might have changed!

At the time, they were one of the most difficult organisations I have ever had dealings with. Syllabi were prone to changes at short notice, often with no reasonable notifications sent to teachers. Marking was all over the place too!

They were full of excuses - you really have never heard so many from one organisation. I had cause to appeal and complain on three separate occasions and on every one, we were just fobbed off.

What they offer is innovative and well thought out, but the delivery and quality control procedures left a great deal to be desired. It would take a great deal to persuade me to try them again; they could give me no real assurances that things would change. I wonder if they did? They certainly made a mess of my A Level chances.

Summary: In six years, a lot might have changed; I doubt it!
