Advantages: crystal clear prints
Disadvantages: a little pricey
If I'm feeling rich enough, I always take my prints to the nearest Fuji developer. As a recent graduate who specialised in photography, I have spent rather a lot of money on colour film developing over the past three years so I know a bit about wheres hot and wheres not. Fuji is boiling! I quickly learned to trust Fuji film more than any other but where developing is concerned, I learned the hard way. Fuji film kiosks are usually found in small desks at the back of another shop or mall... they quite rarely appear as a shop in themselves. At first sight, their developing seems very expensive... i think that their standard and one hour prints are just marginally more expensive than boots - but the difference in quality is amazing. Normally I find that one-hour prints that have been through a machine are of dubious quality but i have never had a bad print from a fuji kiosk. My local fuji store is at the back of a travel agent. I was initially attracted to them by their loyalty scheme.. at present you get a free enlargement if you get 2 films developed 1 hour, 3 hour or next day. And you get a free development if you buy 5 lots of 1-hour etc.... The staff in the two fuji kiosks i have used have been incredibly helpful. Even though i only go in there every other month now, my local fuji man recognises me and can help me with any photography related question i have. If i want a specific crop or enlargement, he will advise me of the best method and will help me to choose a fantastic frame and mount. If i compare the colours and crispness of my fuji prints with any other high-street print, i am always amazed at how perfect my fuji prints are.

- 24/02/06 HP photo kiosk
This is a potential repeat of their failed Kodak/HP venture this time by HP- the past project "Phogenix"
Mr. Joshi lead the last mess with a HP/Kodak kiosk venture, they spent millions of dollars, built a new plant-went to market with poor response to these kiosks then shut it down before they where delivered to handful of customers, saying they where in the “wrong space”-and home printing was where they should be--expect this is panic move to shore up sliding home printing.
Ink jet in the public space just is not good enough quality at a retail level--it has lots of problems with getting the right mix of colors on prints-and with paper having to absorbed the ink at high speed-there will be issues and un happy customers, let alone archival quality of about 20-30yrs these prints begin to fade within 2yrs, our 100yrs archival values at pxidigital®, we offer customers “instant gratification”® expect our customer turn around time will be 2-3 times faster than the HP kiosk, with superior quality digital prints, just spent 14mths retail testing with fantastic customer responses most say we are way in front of the Kodak on demand kiosk quality.
