I hve been a girl guide, and i am setting up a new unit in january!

Girl guides have changed an awful lot in comparison to the common misconceptions people have about them. They are not a club where girls learn to sew and bake and make bizarre crafts. Instead they are a place where girls can be just that - girls, away from parents, boys and other distractions.

Guides can earn badges, but these are on a whole number of subjects with something to suit everyone, from the ever popular chocolate badge, to film lover, agility, world culture and craft. Activities that go on with in guiding are also varied and include archery, swimming, climbing, kayaking, rafting and many more.
Guides also have the chance to have sleepovers, holidays and camps, sometimes even being abole to take part in large scale international jamborees, camping festival style with thousands of scouts and guides from all over the world!

Guiding is a fabulous movement in which girls can improve their confidence, self esteem and have fun in a girl only environment!
