The GP Referral Scheme has been set up for people suffering from long or short-term illness or disability. The aim of the scheme is to help people who are currently inactive by introducing them to gentle forms exercise in an attempt to ease or recover from their illnesses, condition or disability. The people, who would benefit from this scheme are, for example, people who are recovering from heart attacks, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), hip replacements and broken legs etc. In my case, it was CFS.
