Advantages: Cheap, Free film
Disadvantages: Takes ages, Lack of communication, Very stressful!
I recently returned from a holiday in Kos and upon arriving at Manchester airport, I was greeted by a huge advert for Klick Photopoint's new mail service. I picked up an envelope, in which to post my APS films from holiday, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices! I normally use Boots when getting my films developed and this would normally cost me about £7 per film. Klick's mail service was £3.50 per film (+ p&p 70p per film), with the option of an express service for an extra 45p! Oh, and you got a free 25exp film as well! BARGAIN! I opted for the express service which was guaranteed to take less than a week. My boyfriend did the same and we both posted our envelopes. The next week, I eagerly awaited my drunken holiday snaps. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday passed. So I decided to ring them, as they were 4 days late. I got the customer service number off their website, but when I rang it (at 13.00 on Thursday) no one answered. I was rather annoyed so sent them an email asking where my photographs were and what their customer service number was, as they promised to read every one and reply within 24-48 hrs. By the next Tuesday I still had no photographs and no reply to my email. I was VERY annoyed. My boyfriend had received his photographs that morning (over a week late, might I add) and found a different customer service number for me. I decided to give this one a try and eventually, I got through. At last, a human voice belonging to Klick Photopoint! I nearly fainted at the shock! I explained my situation to the girl on the other end of the phone, who informed me that my photographs had been developed over a week ago but just hadnt been posted. Very strange. She told me that she would post them that evening, first class. Friday morning arrived and I mugged the postman as he walked up our drive because I was so excited about getting my pics. The poor man, he didnt have them and his post was all over the drive. Not only was
I now fuming, but also very embarassed to have nearly killed my elderly postman! I rang them again. "Where are they?!?!", I demanded of the girl on the other end. "They haven't been developed yet for some reason." she mumbled. How odd. On Tuesday I was told they had been developed. Something wasnt right. She told me that they would be developed that day and then posted first class.... I didnt really believe her as much as I wanted to. Oh, by the way, still no reply from the email I sent! Well, its now a been over a week since that most recent phone conversation and I still have no photographs, no reply to my email, and no hair left! I'm a very unlucky person so this situation is probably a one off. However, they did deliver my boyfriends photographs late. I don't think I would use this service again!! Oh, and my best friend told me that Asda offer a two day in store service which costs around £2.50. I think I'll be going there in future! ****UPDATE!**** I got my photographs 2day (Thursday 7th August) thats almost 4 weeks after I posted them!!! Their reason for not posting them was because "They forgot"! Hello??!! You're not in year 8 anymore, that excuse doesnt work! Anyway, theyre good photos I must say, and they said they would send me two free films (I got two free anyway). Id still prefer a refund.
