Premium Review Lighter Life: Worth £66 a week (401 words)

I am still on lighter life and have been for 6 months at the time of writing this review. As indicated by the length of time I've been on it, I had a considerable amount of weight to lose. In its favour, LL does provide some element of counselling but I have a feeling after discussing with other "lighter lifers" that the usefulness of this counselling largely depends on your counsellor's approach. The couselling I've experienced has been patchy, but in the beginning - especially during the first 14 weeks - known as Foundation - it was very helpful. I've seen good results on the diet - average weight loss of 3.5 lb per week. I've also ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Lighter Life

Hi All - I joined LighterLife 2 years ago and successfully lost 3 stone - FAB!
The reason I was persuaded to LL instead of other VLC diets was the counselling.

Now, I really liked the counselling part and I now know exactly WHY I put on weight and turn to food....... what the counselling doesn't give you are the tools for HOW to stop that behaviour.

So now I have put on 2 stone of the 3 I lost and am still trying to find the magic key to losing weight quickly and keeping it off. Maybe a combination of hypnosis and LL would work.

Am trying to get back on the programme now but it's very hard to get back into ketosis and stop the carb cravings..... Think carefully before committing to LL - you are messing about with your metabolism after all.

Hi, Thanks for your review. But I want to say that anyone with any sense knows that it is not good to maintain a very low calorie intake for any length of time, however....................... I have been working as a hypnotherapist for 15 years and part of my work is helping people to lose weight. Now hypnotherapy is highly successful in helping people to achieve many things, I would go so far as to say about 85 - 90% success rate. But with weight it goes down to about 60% This has bothered me greatly for years and I have come to the conclusion that this is because the significant majority of people who want to lose weight want a miracle, they want to lose ...  Read the complete review

i did lighter life twice. once in 2004 and once in 2005. the first time was great with no side effects and a lot of weight loss. i had lost a lot of weight but then suddenly developed huge cravings and discovered i was 3 months pregnant. baby boy was born perfect and then i later decided to rejoin lighter life. second time was a nightmare. i wasnt really that big when i joined, but i had a lot of side effects , mainly bloating. i couldnt fit into my jeans at all. when i sought advice from my counsellor i was told to just keep going. i dont know if it was that i started too soon after my c-section (baby was breech) or what but the bloating was painful and made me look ...  Read the complete review
